Common FAQs Answered

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH TREATMENT TO BOOK?

This will be determined at your consultation. It is important to examine your scars-checking texture, age, colouring and size. Following the assessment, you'll receive a tailored treatment plan, which may involve necessary Red LED Therapy sessions before tattooing.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

The number of sessions varies for each individual, and is also influenced by the severity of your scar/stretch marks and your personal expectations for desired results. Expect around 2-5 sessions. From one session many notice 20-60% improvement. We will assess your progress during your follow-up review appointments.

HOW MUCH DOES SCAR/STRETCH MARK CAMOUFLAGE COST?

Pricing for scar camouflage tattooing treatments is tailored to the technique used, the body area treated, and the size of the scars. During your consultation, we'll provide precise investment details. For estimates, please send via messaging, clear, well-lit photos indicating the type, age, and location of the scars.

WHY IS RED LED THERAPY RECOMMENDED?

Red LED therapy is recommended to help stimulate blood circulation, stimulate collagen production, increase lymphatic flow , soothes redness and inflammation, speed up skin healing and rejuvenation. Skin cells that are energised function far better and renew in less time than without. Integrating Red Light Therapy into both pre and post-scar camouflage care is vital for optimal results. Red LED therapy offers a promising option for individuals under 18 to effectively address scarring and stretch marks. Then tattooing can be considered at a later age, if necessary.

DOES IT HURT?

The level of sensation or discomfort varies depending on your individual pain tolerance. If you've had tattoos before, you likely have a sense of what to expect. For each client I have worked with, Ive asked them to rate their pain level on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being no pain and 10 being extremely painful. On average, clients tend to rate the discomfort around a 3.

Most people handle the procedure very well. However, certain areas of the body can be more sensitive, particularly when working on scar tissue or damaged skin. Throughout my experience working with various clients, everyone has been able to sit comfortably for the entire duration of their session.

Here's a helpful tip for women: It's best to avoid scheduling your session during the week before or during your menstrual cycle, as your body tends to be more sensitive during this time.

I refrain from using numbing products during scar camouflage or inkless sessions. This decision is based on the fact that numbing products can alter the skin's natural state and impede blood flow. We rely on the skin's natural reactions, such as becoming red or raised, to gauge the effectiveness of the needling process. Numbing products can interfere with this reaction and potentially lead to overworking the skin, causing more harm than good.

If you're feeling apprehensive or nervous, please don't hesitate to let me know. I always begin the session slowly and continuously check in with you throughout the process. If at any point you feel the need to stop, that's perfectly okay—I'm here to adapt to your comfort level and preferences.

ARE THESE TREATMENTS PERMANENT?

InkLess technique provides a long lasting solution by effectively restructuring scars and stretch marks. It encourages collagen production to plump up and fill textured or sunken areas, while also breaking down and softening raised scars. This transformation is driven by your body's natural healing response, ensuring long-lasting correction.

On the other hand, Scar Camouflage utilises semi-permanent pigments that gradually fade over time, offering flexibility as your skin tone evolves. After the pigment fades, your skin tone can be re-evaluated for a perfect match down the line. The duration of Scar Camouflage effectiveness typically ranges from 1 to 7 years, depending on individual skin characteristics and maintenance.
